Meet Our Teachers

 

4 Year Old Teacher/Preschool Director: Nicole Schmitz

     Nicole Schmitz has been the center director since August 2015, and also serves as the 4-year-old preschool teacher. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2014 with a BA in early childhood along with a family studies minor and special education endorsement. Nicole enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and cooking. She lives in Independence, Iowa, with her husband and is a member of the Immaculate Conception parish in Gilbertville where she helps teach Sunday school. 

 

4 Year Old Associate: Kristi Price

     Kristi Price has been working at Wee Care Preschool as the associate in the four-year-old classroom since August 2017. She previously worked as a secretary at Kidsville. Kristi’s family attends St. John Church in Independence. She enjoys building relationships with the students and having fun while learning. Kristi enjoys playing pool, scrapbooking, shopping, spending time with her family, and is an Iowa State fan. She lives in Independence with her son and daughter.

 

 

3 Year Old Teacher: Ashley Even

    Ashley Even began as the PK4 Classroom Associate Substitute in April 2017 and became the three-year-old preschool teacher in August 2017.  She graduated from Kirkwood in 2010 with her associate's degree in Early Childhood.  Ashley worked for Head Start for 9 years. She is a member of the Immaculate Conception parish in Gilbertville. Ashley enjoys shopping, being with her family, and watching movies. She currently resides in Gilbertville with her daughter.

 

3 Year Old Associate: Lanette Simons

    Lanette Simons started as our associate in January, 2013. She has led a busy life working and raising her children as well. Lanette is active and creative in the classroom, keeping the children busy. Her grandchildren are around the same age as the children in her classroom, so her knowledge generates from school and life expereinces. Lanette's family keeps her busy in Independence.
